Immanuel Lutheran School Michael Welton, Principal October
15, 2008 Dear
Friends: Immanuel Lutheran School is strong.
Our history dates back to 1877 when we first opened our doors; they’ve been
open ever since. Our enrollment has remained high, around 200, for over
ten years; kindergarten through 8th enrollment is back to its 2001
high. Our facility is one of the finest in the area; our computer lab,
daycare, science lab, and gym have been recently updated. Immanuel Lutheran School is strong.
Academics remain high; averaging nearly 20 percentage points above the nation
for the past 15 years. The staff is consistent; our great teachers are
committed to this place – averaging 16 years of teaching experience. Immanuel Lutheran School is strong.
We have Jesus Christ as our foundation. Our mission calls us to equip
students for lives of discipleship and service. We are built on the Rock. A
celebration of the ministry of Immanuel Lutheran School will take place on
Saturday, November 15, 2008. Tours will be available at 5 PM. Hors
d’ouvres will be offered at 6:30. Dinner is served at 7 PM.
Entertainment follows at 8 PM. Free child care will be offered to
participants, volunteers, and those in attendance. Darren
Marlar, WQFL radio host, will serve as emcee – sharing the best of his
stand-up comedy routines. Carl and Dianna Cole will provide musical
entertainment throughout the evening. Their son, Andrew, will accompany
them on bass. Several other introductions, testimonials, devotional
thoughts, and musical offerings will also highlight the evening. The
cost of the evening is $125.00. That price includes a $100 donation to the
school. This donation is tax-deductable; receipts will be given. The
donation can also be matched for members of Thrivent Financial. Thrivent
will match $50 for their account holders. A
Thrivent form in enclosed. Tickets can be purchased through Paypal via our
website, www.immanuellutheranfreeport.com/banquet
, or by sending in the reservation card with a check. Checks should be
written out to Immanuel Lutheran School. We hope you will be able to
attend this evening along with other friends of Immanuel Lutheran School. If
you prefer to attend the entertainment portion only, the cost is $40. That
price is tax-deductible and can also be proportionally matched by Thrivent
Financial. Young adults and youth may prefer to volunteer that evening.
Dinner will be offered to volunteers, and there is no charge to volunteer.
An
evening of alumni basketball will take place in the gym on Friday, November 28.
You
can help keep Immanuel strong. You can celebrate Immanuel’s strength.
We hope that you can and will support Immanuel School by attending this Friends
of Immanuel Lutheran School Dinner. In
Christ, Michael WeltonPrincipal
